The Kindness Challenge
We tend to forget how good it feels to be held and supported by your community and/or loved ones. This Challenge is not about spending money- It’s about a practice called Dana Paramita (the perfection of giving), a buddhist teaching to offer presence, time, space, freedom, peace or stability to the people around you.
12 Days of sharing and giving:
Day 0: Invite a friend or your kids to join :)
Day 1: Reach out to someone from your past who you haven’t spoken to in a while and see how they’re doing. Maybe schedule a coffee date?!
Day 2: Go on a hike or walk and bring a trash bag to collect litter along the way.
Day 3: Write 3 handwritten notes to a colleague or friend or someone in your family to tell them how much they mean to you.
Day 4: Give a stranger a compliment and wish them a beautiful day.
Day 5: Donate some clothes, books, toys, etc.
Day 6: Leave a stranger an encouraging note on their car.
Day 7: Listen to someone who struggles emotionally/mentally, at work or with their health.
Day 8: Make a Playlist or share your favorite song with a loved one
Day 9: Offer someone to help with a task (this might be as small as taking a picture or holding the door open for them or perhaps you offer to babysit their kids, cook a meal, etc.)
Day 10: Leave a 5 star review (or a personal compliment) at your favourite restaurant/coffee shop/ retail store
Day 11: Take someone you love on an Adventure or create one at home (a hike, a dance party, movie night…)
Day 12: Write down 3 things you love about yourself and comment below how this challenge made you feel or any experiences you want to share :) OR join us on November 12 for a donation based livestream class and share your thoughts in community!
